BB Tour 9630 :: Cannot Connect / Register Device
I got an unlocked tour from Verizon, my fsecond BB I have BB services in my carrier but my tour doesn't connect to them.I've tested the SIM card on a 8820 I have and it works fine, however in the tour I cannot connect. I can send/recive calls and send/recive sms but nothing to do with BB services.I tried to register the phone but it was impossible, it's like the phone cannot say to the carrier "I'm here"Did someone have the same problem? Any ideas?
Answer:
I discovered what's the issue with my tour. My carrier in India is Vodafone, I've traveled around for a month in Maharashtra and the device worked perfect so I asked the technical service about the issue. Of course they didn't know so I talked with a Vodafone employee who contacted an expert in BB services.
The issue is: Vodafone has only many BB devices certified for it's network, so they apply something like a filter before to connect to RIM depending if the device is certified or not, they don't sell tours in India so they don't consider this device as certified. Other Indian carriers don't apply this filter and the tour works perfectly.
So if anyone has the same problem this is the reason, also if you are facing this problem and don't want to give up on your carrier then go out of your home circle into roaming and then try to register your device with Blackberry. It always works for me.
